Many of you may have kids who will be heading back to school soon, so why not let them head back to school in style with their own personalized back to school binder? It’s Juliana here to share with you how I took a simple 3-ring-binder with a clear pocket cover and decorated it for my niece using some of the fabulous speciality papers from 3 Birds Studio.
I began by measuring the size of the front cover on the binder. I then cut a piece of vellum from the Midday Medley Paper Collection to fit inside the pocket. This certainly dressed it up a bit, but I wanted to take it a step further, so I pulled out the All Seasons Themed cards (coming soon to HSN) and looked through them until I found a quote that seemed to fit. I mounted the card onto a piece of white cardstock and then onto a piece of the silver glitter paper from the Graceful Season Paper Collection. This definitely stepped it up, but I felt like it needed a little more pizzaz, so I used a piece of the blue foil paper from the Midday Medley Paper collection and added a bunch of punched butterflies to the cover. Now I was happy with how it looked - lots of sparkle and shine!
As you can see, I also decorated the spine of the binder. I used some of the leftover vellum that I used on the front cover. I measured and trimmed the vellum to fit inside the pocket along the spine. I then added my niece’s name and a couple more butterflies. Now she is all ready to head back to school in style with her own personalized binder.
Now, it’ your turn to pull out your scrapbooking supplies and start personalizing your kids school binders, or maybe even one for yourself!
